Our Design

Our design for serving the Avila gardens and Loyola's Grounds Department is a fairly complex 1000 gal system. Most of the details can be found in our Attachments section which includes files like our presentation, parts list, etc. That said, here's an overview:

The system collects water from the roof of Avila at 3 gutters. Those gutters run through filters that cleanse the water before merging into one header that leads to the barrels. The water flows (in parallel) to 4 barrels specifically designated for the gardens and then overflows into another header that feeds the 16 remaining barrels. These barrels store water for the watering truck and its 400 gal tank.

The water is collected from a section of the roof, approximately 2,100 sq ft. And the gardens we are watering are just over 400 sq ft.

All information regarding the budget, design, and system requirements can be found within our presentation file.
